Nemanor's desire for an astrolabe is also mentioned in the fanfic Eastern Promise by Rosey Collins, first published in
The Eye Shield.
Treguard, during his sea voyage in
The Sorcerer's Isle novella, uses a navigational tool whose description suggests an astrolabe.
